FACILITIES
The Community Hall is all on one level, with disabled external access from the main entrance and to the side. Limited parking for the hall is at the front of the building.
Main hall
The large hall which is 15m x 8.5m has a wooden floor and is marked out as a badminton court. It has a high ceiling. The hall is perfect for active games, parties, performances, public meetings, social events and overnight stays for groups. A portable stage is available to be set up for bands and performances. The hall is lit by ceiling mounted LED lights – additional party lights and mirror ball are also available.
Kitchen, Committee Room and Bar
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge and freezer, electric cooker with 4 ring hob, grill and oven, microwave, kettle, and crockery & cutlery. A large hot water Urn is also available
A smaller committee room adjacent to the kitchen and bar is ideal for informal meetings and get togethers.
The hall has a bar and an occasional licence can be organised for events. At least 6 weeks notice is required for the licence.
Toilets
There are ladies, gents and disabled toilets.
Shower
Located within the disabled toilet area are two shower cubicles with electric showers. This is particularly useful for groups who are staying in the hall overnight.
Tables and Chairs
A plentiful supply of folding trestle tables and chairs are available. In total there are 15 tables and 110 chairs. The kitchen is well equipped and has crockery and cutlery to cater for large groups. The hall’s capacity for functions is for 120 people.
Heating
The current heating system within the building is electrically operated with low level convector heaters and high level radiant heaters within the main hall space. There are £1 and £2 coin operated electricity meters along with individual and time restricted controls for each electric heater.
Plans
The Spean Bridge Community Centre Committee have been instrumental in raising funds for improvements of the Community Centre. Plans for the very near future include installing a new renewable heating system.
